Story Behind The Song
Taken exclusively from my experience of fixing up an old, beat-up home and hoping to have someone to share the end product with.
Song Description
A song that, on it's face and in the verses, deals with working on an old house to fix it up. Underneath, and in the chorus, the song is about preparing a house for the singer's love that he has yet to meet and his hopes and dreams of what he'll eventually have at that address.

Lyrics
WHOEVER, WHEREVER YOU ARE
Copyright 2004 Scott W. Sigman
VERSE 1
I WORKED IN THE YARD TODAY
I WONDER WHAT YOU?LL SAY
WHEN YOU SEE IT
I BET YOU JUST WON?T BELIEVE IT
I BUILT US A FIREPLACE
THERE IN THAT EMPTY SPACE
IN OUR MASTER SUITE
IT MAKE A NICE RETREAT
THERE?S STILL A FEW MORE THINGS AROUND THIS PLACE TO DO
WHAT IT REALLY NEEDS MOST OF ALL IS YOU
CHORUS
SO WHOEVER, WHEREVER YOU ARE
WHY DON?T YOU COME ON HOME?
I?M TIRED OF BEING HERE ALONE
SO WHOEVER, WHEREVER YOU ARE
I?M HERE AT 305
DOWN ON HICKORY DRIVE
WISHING OH SO HARD UPON THE BRIGHTEST STAR
FOR WHOEVER, WHEREVER YOU ARE
VERSE 2
TOMORROW I?LL START THE PORCH
I?LL HANG YOU A SWING OF COURSE
AND THE DOGS WILL PLAY
WHILE WE SWING THE DAY AWAY
I CAN?T WAIT TO HEAR THE SWEET
SOUND OF LITTLE FEET
ON OUR WOODEN FLOOR
I COULDN?T ASK FOR MORE
BUT FOR NOW ALL I DO IS ROAM THESE HALLS
THERE?S ONLY EMPTINESS THAT FILLS THESE FOUR WALLS
(Repeat Chorus)
TAG
IT?S NUMBER 305
DOWN ON HICKORY DRIVE
I?M WISHING OH SO HARD UPON THE BRIGHTEST STAR
FOR WHOEVER, WHEREVER YOU ARE
