I suppose the lyrics take a poke at the vanity of pop- and rock stars who like to think they impress others with their physical appearance, as well as people in general who like to enjoy the limelight. A song for the average person to think that their chance for notoriety is better than their chance of being hit by lightning. Fame is often unexpected and may arrive from the most unlikely of sources.
