Story Behind The Song
Through an inside source I was able to submit tracks for Michael Jackson's come back album around January of 2007. Swagger was a culmination of that effort. From my understanding his manager liked the track and we proceeded to attempt getting vocals done but I wasn't happy with the outcome.
Song Description
This track culminated from an opportunity presented to me by an inside acquaintance to submit material to Michael Jackson somewhat directly for review and consideration for his come back album. I had a few songs which fit the bill ranging from high energy pop/rock, to sexy club r&b.
Swagger was written as Michael's statement to the world regarding the haters and antagonizers who belittled him. I was cognizant of the fact that Michael's demeanor with regard to vocal statements was generally laid back with a few exceptions...Swagger would have been one of those exceptions. It essentially stated "What you say don't matter, I will never lose, I will never lose, I'm never losin' my swagger!"
