Story Behind The Song
Sandshifter Music was founded by ten-time award winning songwriter, Gail Vareilles, currently Associate Music Producer (along with "Glee" producer Tommy Faragher) of "Passion Play", a new film with Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox and Bill Murray. Gail has numerous professional licensing credits with many of her songs licensed to film and TV and she co-writes with Grammy winning songwriters and producers. Gail collaborates on many of her songs with Tommy Faragher, many times Grammy nominated songwriter, presently a music producer for the hit show "Glee", and writer of several top 10 hits, with cumulative sales of over 12 million units. Tommy wrote for major stars such as, BB King, Dusty Springfield, Peter Criss, Hall & Oates, Al Green, The O'Jays, Taylor Dayne, among many others. Faragher and Vareilles have already enjoyed winning 10 awards for songs they wrote together. Gail and Tommy are also writing and producing pop/reggae star Jovi Rockwell's new album.
Song Description
Brand New Eyes is a positive, inspirational anthem to changing your life by seeing through brand new eyes and seeing things in a better light. This song talks of a girl measuring her self worth by what she sees in magazines and how others treat her and realizes how unhappy this makes her. By seeing who she really is in a different way she is able to transcend any pain she experiences from her prior negative associations.
