She was on the couch by the phone with his credit card,
She had that Home Shopping Network on,
Buying something totally useless with money that they didn't have.
He took away the remote,
Changed it to his favorite fishing show,
She stormed out of the room,
Said "This time I'm through getting mad."
He said "I'm the boss, I pick the channels, it's only fair."
"...so grab a cold one for me from the Frigidaire."

(chorus)
He thought he was right (and he told her so).
He thought he was right (and thought she should know).
He thought he was right...
Til she left.

He put a can of pork and beans in the microwave.
Next thing, he's puttin' out a kitchen blaze.
Since that woman took off, he's as helpless as a man could be.
He put too much Tide in his laundry load.
Now he's mopping up the mess that overflowed.
He admitted to himself, "The one who's really wrong is me."
He was sure he could make it on his own.
Now he's emotionally naked and all alone.

(chorus)
He thought he was right (but, now she's long gone).
He thought he was right (she won't answer her cell phone).
He thought he was right...
Til she left.

(bridge)
He used to hurt her feelings 'cause he just didn't care,
But he missed the boat, she smartened up and got out of there.

(chorus)
He thought he was right (and he thought that she heard).
He thought he was right (he thought he had the last word).
He thought he was right...
Til she left.

(chorus)
I thought I was right (now she's goin' it alone).
I thought I was right (without her, our house ain't no home).
I thought I was right...
Til she left.

Very cool Country Song and very funny as well, I like the drums and the lead guitar, reminds me a little of Hoyt Axton.

I liked the charging intro..... sets the mood instantly.... just right...... the rolling rhythm... very nice.... bright 'strat' type solo fills.... well balanced.... and 'answer' as if 'she' was talking...in a pointed and 'angry woman' high frequency voice.....with the rhythm of the words.... your melody line is catchy and mix of spoken vs. singing is well balanced....

backing vocals.... balanced nicely against the lead.....

your Hook... the chorus.... is VERY similar to those songs of the 60's (which was a time of EXCELLENT hooks).... short jabs of melodic line... followed with just enough lengthy drawn out melodic line to be catchy.... WELL DONE ! The instrumentation that follows the lengthy drawn out melodic line is perfect in pitch, and rhythm to match the tone of the hook.

loved the ending.... the change from the Third person to the first person in the lead vocal line, and to recognize that it REALLY is about the experience of the first person does catch the listener.... AND, the guitar filler changes from the high frequency Female tone down to a more male baritone frequency to match the recognition of the First person experience speaking.... then on the 'She Left...' coming back in with a Female high tone frequency.....is dynamite !

I really enjoyed the lyrics on this song. It's good too hear something fun and refreshing once in a while. Good production, arrangement, and instrumentation. It's a good, fun, Country tune.
