Story Behind The Song
I woke up one morning, the Title came to me with most of the lyrics. It was one of those inspired tunes that just came quickly.
Could have been my song but thank God, my wife's love and the prayers of my 2 amazing daughters brought me back. I lived it for about a year.
Song Description
It's about a father who lives in regret for putting his needs before his wife's. She left him and now he lives a sad existence wishing he had his family back and could be the husband and father God intended for him to be.

Weekend Winding Road ©2015
Words & Music by Sam Fasano III
These weekend winding roads just ain't long enough
to be the dad I was meant to be
I spend my nights on bended knees
I see you bring the kids outside
it crushes me you're not my bride
If only I gave more to you
and less to my foolish pride
This weekend winding road
faster than a westbound train
just a Saturday Sunday dad
Over and over again
I promised you fifty fifty
But ninety ten was all I'd do
Now I'm sitting here with zero
that's me alone without you
That little house with the creaking walls
you in that negligée at the end of the hall
you filled that home with so much joy
Remember you loved this boy
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
In my mirror there's so much regret
What I couldn't remember now I just can't forget
Now I save my tears for when no one's lookin'
Mac & Cheese instead of your home cookin'
Oh girl, you're still so good lookin
what's wrong with me?
