Story Behind The Song
Inspired and written for the families of the men who died in the Xerox tragedy here in Hawaii. When 911 hit us all, I was asked to sing this song often. Somehow it has been used again, hopefully for healing for us all.

Lyrics
i've been staring at this empty page trying to find the words tto say
to tell you that i'm sorry that these lives were torn away
but as hard as i try, the words escape my mind
the way to say i'm sorry, i think i'll never find, i think i'll never find
for the comforts they are small for a mountain that's so great
and the pain is just impossible to ignore or to escape
so we try to forget while remembering again
these husbands and these daughters,
these brothers, sons and friends,
tthese brothers, sons and friends.
we'll see your eyes in your daughters and your smiles in your sons,
a bright shining legacy in each and every one
you'll not be forgotten although we're apart,
you'll live forever here in our hearts
your many words of kindness and your constant helping hands
are things that we're still missing
and we'lll never understand...
so we cling to those who love us and help us try to cope
and we lift our eyes to heaven
to catch a glimpse of hope,
to catch a glimpse of hope
i've told myself a hundred times this must be just a dream
i'll wake up when it's over, but my wish is not redeemed
and I'd walk a thousand miles to see you once again,
our husbands and our daughters
our brothers, sons and friends
our brothers, sons and friends
we'll see your eyes in your daughters and your smiles in your sons,
a precious, living legacy in each and every one
you'll not be forgotten although we're apart,
you'll live forever here in our hearts
here in our hearts
here in our hearts
