Story Behind The Song

I started a transfer student who at 13 was burnt out, so in order to keep the pupil involved with music I composed Galliard. The composition only happened during her lesson. I'm happy to say not only did she learn the piece but went on to perform the work with CD accompaniment at 3 concerts.

Song Description

Galliard is an older dance form that was performed during the age of enlightenment. I updated the concept with themes and harmony in the dorian and aeolian modes, giving the piece more of a rock feel.
