Story Behind The Song

The Canon was composed to improve my technique in counterpoint. The piece was written from the staff.

Song Description

To be a canon the music must beget itself. The theme is given out by 1st violins. When the 2nd violins take it upm the 1st play a countersubject that harmonizes with the theme. Each voice enters with the theme and follows the one before ad verbatim until all parts are present. Think of a chorus where the them is first sung by one person and slowly evolves into full chorus.
