Story Behind The Song

Grace brought this song to life early one morning, the day after being up very late tracking “Messages for Us.” I didn’t have my piano or recorder in the hotel room (everything was at the studio), so I wrote this song on post-it notes and sang it to Gentle Thunder, who instantly heard the drum part. I then sang it to my voice mail and we agreed, as crazy as it sounded, that it was meant to be recorded that weekend. We called Ron, our engineer, and told him there would be a slight change of plans. By the afternoon “Not Broken” was recorded. “Faith” definitely “drew all of us near” for this one. It was an amazing gift and an experience we will never forget.
