Story Behind The Song
This song started coming to me after playing a gig with a band where we decided (on the spot) to give a popular song a reggae feel. Thinking back on the fun and the vibe it created, I began chanting and partying on the New york subway.
Song Description
Harking back to the style of Cab Calloway, this song creates a party atmosphere with a midtempo groove and a jovial call-and-response chorus.
Speaking of a process most young people have been through, the singer-caller relates how he plans to learn a dance even if it "takes all night". A modern day telling of a classic tale.
