Story Behind The Song
Before my son died last year he had written a poem in college that we found later in his belongings. I put the poem to meter and melody inspired by his going to heaven.

Lyrics
Verse 1
The lady sought the Lily fair in the dawn of lifeless air.
The flower she sought no longer bloomed for cruel man had taken and left him entombed.
Sweet fragrance remembered and memories so near
She yearned for her Lily but none found she here.
Chorus
Have you seen my flower? She asked the stranger merely.
Not knowing the Lily would soon catch her eye.
Have you seen my Lily? I have to say goodbye.
Verse 2
With silent reply she then fell to her knees
In fear that her Lily she would never see.
Then hearing her name from a voice so dear
She then saw her Lily and that He was near.
Last Chorus
Yes my Lily lives forever her glad heart cried with glee.
For death lost its' sting and the grave its' victory.
No stubborn sod could hold Him or keep Him entombed.
And now the lady whispers, "I'll see my Lily soon."
