A condemned death row inmate awaits electrocution - his only possible salvation - a clemency call from the State Governess. Without a successful appeal and a call from the State Governess despite his regret and atonement he can't live another day despite regret and atonement. Since the call never comes he is led out of his cell to meet Old Sparky and his fate his fate
