Story Behind The Song
My grandfather would always tell us stories about "back in the day or the good ole days" Even thru equality struggles, there was always family, friends and everyone respected each other. Bring Back that Old School was born. Hope you enjoy the song! I do!
Song Description
Bring Back That Old School was written on a dictation recorder while I was driving down Mississippi HWY 49 South. It hit me like a lightning bolt. The Drum line was beat boxed, the bass, and the guitar, piano were all sung and recorded on that dictation recorder. The background vocals were sung as well. I took that one tape and we to a local studio and recreated it all from that tape. I was so hyped!! I was a great experience. Been writing, singing, choir directing ever since.
