Story Behind The Song
I spent 17 months touring Europe and Asia and was able to collaborate with composer Jaimie Lynn Fletcher during my stay in Seoul, Korea. I was dating a Korean man at the time and we began having issues of insecurity and trust. I was performing at a local club six nights and week and getting both welcome and unwelcome attention from men from all over the world. I wrote this song for my man in hopes that he would understand that my love was real and that he was the one I chose.
Song Description
It FEELS like RL is alone in a room speaking directly to her lover. Catered acoustic piano lines...perfectly laid to solid vocals. The verse vocals are carefully plotted and classy R&B Riffs...with a catchy upbeat Pre-Chorus and a perfectly laid tag of 'My Poor Baby'.

Lyrics
My Poor Baby
©2010 Rachel Lynn Sebastian & Jamie Lynn Fletcher
Why do you ask me? What's going on?
Haven't I been here, all along?
Come to my side;
let me show you one more time, Baby.
That Heaven is in your arms, and nothing else feels right.
So, close the door; turn the key.
Come inside, you'll be safe with me.
Just believe: I will be still around when you're needing me.
Now, lay your head here in my arms;
I know you're having hard times.
My poor baby, my poor baby...
What's on your mind?
If you want I will be your guide, Baby.
But, you don't have to talk at all.
Just remember: I'm on your side.
So, close the door; turn the key.
Come inside, you'll be safe with me.
Just believe: I will be still around when you're needing me.
Now, lay your head here in my arms;
I know you're having hard times.
My poor baby...
Remember I'm the one who's always asking, 'Why?'.
And, you're the one who reassures me day and night.
It breaks my heart to see my man with tears in his eyes.
So, lay your head here in my arms;
I know you're having hard times.
My poor baby...my poor baby...
My poor baby...my poor baby...
Why do you ask me? What's going on?
