Story Behind The Song
This is my 2016 Christmas song. I was working on a version of Jingle Bell Rock that was supposed to progress through multiple eras of rock. It fell apart somewhere in the early '80s. Somewhat frustrated, I sat down at the piano and this song just sort of came out. I almost immediately recorded it. It was largely improvised, thus it does get a little off-time in the bridge.
Song Description
Initially, this was going to be a piano/vocal track only, but it needed bass. But when I added bass, it needed some percussion. I tried to keep the percussion low-key. Yes, that is a heartbeat sound serving as the kick drum
