Somewhere past tomorrow

Story Behind The Song

"Somewhere past tomorrow" song review by J Paul Bolcar 03/25/2021 "Somewhere past tomorrow" is a song of hope for troubled times. The genre is universal. The message is for everyone; the pursuit of truth and the subsequent benefit to humanity once it is attained. After a short instrumental introduction of about 18 secs, the vocal opens immediately with the chorus: "On some quiet morning somewhere, past tomorrow, just before the rising sun, the world will wake without want or war or sorrow, the quest for truth will finally be done." This is the lyrical poem or "hook" of the song. The very unique chords that back the poem are beautiful and constitute the musical hook. After the opening chorus, two verses follow describing humanity's "plight" each followed by a chorus repeat. Instruments include piano, bass, drums, synth strings and lead vocal. My purpose in writing this piece was to give the world something to feel good about. Although the verses are necessarily sad, it is the chorus that gives us hope. J Paul Bolcar

Lyrics

Somewhere Past Tomorrow by John Paul Bolcar
Chorus
On some quiet morning somewhere, past tomorrow
Just before the rising sun
The world will wake without want or war or sorrow
The quest for truth will finally be done

Verse 1
It's time to fix what we have broken
To find our way back this dark night
Those cold harsh words that have been spoken
have bruised our hearts and can't be right

Verse 2
If we can feel what some are feeling
There's hope that we might see our plight
Let's end the lies and start the healing
It's way past time to end this fight

Chorus
On some quiet morning somewhere, past tomorrow
Just before the rising sun
The world will wake without want or war or sorrow
The quest for truth will finally be done

Verse 3
We know just where this path will lead us
We're sure to find peace on the way
Let's lose this darkness deep within us
and seize the hope of each new day

Verse 4
One has the right to think and live free
That simple truth is carried here
We need to learn to live and let be
And every soul to finally care

Chorus
On some quiet morning somewhere, past tomorrow
Just before the rising sun
The world will wake without want or war or sorrow
The quest for truth will finally be done
