Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song about coming-of-age and becoming wiser than the my surroundings. I learned that things you're taught from when you're young aren't always the unwavering truths they appear to be, and that it's okay to rise above the doctrine of your youth.
Song Description
"Don't Believe It" is an anthem of self-awakening, with lyrics reflecting becoming wiser about your surroundings and the life around you. Its beautifully melancholy, drenched in crisp acoustic guitars, brush drums, raspy smokey vocals, upright bass and a beautiful, haunting clarinet. It's optimistic in the most mellow sense.

Lyrics
Memories are nagging me again
Cleaning out my brain like turpentine
Epic tales of heroes hunting whales
And mortal souls made out to be divine
But I don't really believe it to be so
No I don't really believe it to be so
No I don't really believe it to be so, anymore
Omnipresent streams of other peoples' dreams
Fill my screens while I try to sleep at night
Promises you're better off as someone else
Promises that everything's all right
But I don't really believe it to be so
No I don't really believe it to be so
No I don't really believe it to be so, anymore
You're only worth the clothes draped on your back
You're only worth the dollar that you're working for
You're only worth the sunshine that you breathe
And not a moment more
