'Walking In The Faith' however, was written in one shot at 1 AM in the morning. I didn't even re-write it...it all came from a thought. I got to thinking about my father (who's a preacher) and the old time way of worship and singing. The feel is reminiscent of the songs I used to hear when I was a little girl growing up in the church, that down home, bluesy thing...I did want it to pop and get the listener's attention with its simple pulse.
Song Description
2010 winning gospel song of the Independent Music Awards. A down home bluesy gospel melody with an infectious bass line. Recorded in Nashville at Bayou Studios. Larry Paxton was the session leader and bass player, the other musicians were Clayton Ivey (keys), Owen Hale (drums), Jack Pearson (guitar) and Larry Byrom (guitar). Greg Tornquist gave some crucial input on the pulse of the bass line.
