Lyrics
Ribbons of Love
Verse 1
I remember growing up we didn't have a lot of money. Sometimes it seemed we'd barely make it through. But each year my Momma, although it went unoticed. Would wear the same old thing so we could have new. And sometimes she'd tie my hair, with pretty little ribbons. But there's something wrapped around my heart to stay.
Chorus
Ribbons of love, that will never be broken, though the storms of life have tried to tear them down. Ribbons of love, that my momma tied around me. When the tears would rush in like a flood. Your life means so much more, than you receive credit for. Momma thank you, for the ribbons of love.
Verse 2
And now I find myself trying to fill the same shoes. I can't believe that I'm a mommy too. I want to give them, everything you gave me. I finally know a depth of love so true. And sometimes I tie their hair with pretty little ribbons, but there's something wrapped around their hearts to stay.
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
God must have known, when he placed me in your arms. That I would need your love to see me through. And God must have known, as I held my baby girls. That the ribbons of love would carry them too.
