Story Behind The Song
This song was written during the devastating bushfires in Australia in December/January 2020. The incredible loss of wildlife & land. Knowing climate change has had an enormous effect on our plant, mother earth. Aho means similar to I Agree or I promise. And with that we can all make a difference.
Song Description
The arrangement begins with nylon string guitar with single hi hat taps from drums & vocals. Builds through the piece with the inclusion of the harmonium. Big tribal style drumming lends tension & emotion to the piece with heart felt lyrics. 'Aho' in the chorus section that provides time for contemplation means similar to "I Agree" or "I promise". The song hopes the listener can reflect about their actions/choices in their life that have impact on our environment. This song was written in January 2020 as a result of the devastation and loss to wildlife, land, property & life during the Dec/Jan 2020 bushfires in Australia. The feeling of helplessness led me to write this song. I play mantra music so it is intentional that this song is repetitive & spacious.
This song comprises instruments made from of timber/wood/strings/drums/harmonium. The primary guitar and bass guitar are both nylon strings. There is a steel string guitar, harmonium and drums using mallets for that big tribal sound effects.

Lyrics
Ancient Mother
I hear you calling
I'll answer your prayer
Aho (meaning I agree or promise/amen)
Ancient Mother
I hear you calling
Bring peace to this earth
Aho
As above So below
As within as without
Earth Fire Water Air
Earth Fire Water Air
We are one. We are one.
Aho
Ancient Mother
This is my prayer
We are one. We share
We are one. We care
Aho
We are one.
