Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for my wonderful husband of 44 years, Tim Carpenter. This is a re-written song. The first version was a more specific family history. I rewrote it so that it could apply to many happily married couples.

Lyrics
I sing to you, beloved; and those who gather, hear
and witness of the faithful love enduring through the years..
Looking back I smile at all that we've been through
The best of times and tough ones, and I did it all with you.
Just kids when we were married; so young and so unwise.
We prayed and pinched our pennies and the Lord, He got us by.
You and I were learning to forgive and get along.
To die to selfish ways and admit when we were wrong.
Chorus: And I wouldn't change a thing. Oh I'd do it all again.
I love you so much, darling. On you I can depend.
You stood by me strong, and you never turned away.
Faithful, always faithful every night and every day.
It seems like only yesterday. How the years have flown!
Our hair is streaked with gray now, and the kids are nearly grown.
But weren?t they just our babies, crying out to us at night?
Now we watch them drive away and we hold each other tight.
Chorus: Oh How I thank the Lord for vows that mean so much
For cuddles in the night and your warm and loving touch.
You stood by me strong and you never turned away
Faithful, always faithful, every night and every day.
We're still going strong and vitality is with us.
Life's deepest tragedies have managed to miss us.
But when I visit nursing homes and see the old and gray.
I know that's what you and I may be looking like someday.
Bridge: I with my walker, and you with your old cane.
Hobbling along, we'll be loving just the same.
Faithful, always faithful, till death parts our ways
Oh faithful, always faithful, every night and every day.
And I wouldn't change a thing. Oh I'd do it all again.
I love you so much, darling. On you I can depend.
You stood by me strong and you never turned away.
Faithful, always faithful, every night and every day.
Faithful, always faithful, every night and every day.
