Story Behind The Song
This tune seemed to just flow out of the band in rehearsal. Maybe we, as a band, are more influenced by jazz than we'd like to admit. Doug, on drums, and A.J. on bass, really put the groove into this track. Joshua's lead guitar tracks came on the first take. The lead vocals were the easiest thing I've ever done and the 4 part harmonies in the chorus just flowed out. The piano and B3 solo's in the middle were completely improvised by Mike in the studio and remain a highlight of the track. The party type noise in the background was an afterthought...something influenced by a Ramsey Lewis tune, "I'm In With The In Crowd", to show the cavilier attitude sometimes employed by us guys when we're dumping a "trophy".
Song Description
The impending, inevitable breakup, the denial that the "right one" is ready to walk, the door you seal on your self-defined ego, all told with a thick, soulful voice. This glorious petulant boogie into the world of male love loss occasionally pauses funky

Lyrics
The razzle dazzle that you show must be those designer clothes
The plastic smile and light blond curl, you think you are a cover girl
Bet you're wondering why I don't cry
And you think about where we're contraire
Yeah you speculate when this will end
Bet you're wondering why I don't cry
There's loys of fish under the sea, bet you never thought about it
Won't tolerate your agony, I can live my life without it
I'll dim that twinkle in your eyes, knock you down a peg or two
Instruct you how to realize, the planets don't revolve around you
