Story Behind The Song

I wrote a little paragraph called "The Nature of The Ghetto" that I was going to use as maybe a skit, and the words to that paragraph, some of which are quoted in the song description, touched me, and I continued to write these lyrics with no beat, and the beat was easy to put with the feel of the song, its my favorite, most complete song in my mind.

Song Description

"Put a man in the jungle, and it's nature that makes him react to the ways of the wild, put a man in congress, and its nature that makes him react to the ways of politics, put a man in the ghetto, and see what you get." This is a deep concept of how life has been around me for the 20 years that I've lived it.

You can hear a siren ringin in tha late night hours, where shots penitrate and make you fall like tha towers, where theres good times and bad times all of thee above, crips, bloods, neutral thugs and drugz, liquir and guns, sex, money, pain and joys that its brung, where cowards fall and ridahz stand when its all done, all for one, heres one for yall, tha curb sliderz, night ridahz dedicated to ball, its a ghetto nation fulla desperation and energy, and our national drink is old english or hennessy, some sip for pain, some sip for joy, some sip a fourth and pour tha fifth out for they boyz, many bang noise fulla bass in they trunk, and many bring toyz for a mothafuckin punk, our economy is based on an addictive stock, kilos, pounds and ounces in liquid, grass or rock, transported through your trunk, through bags even a sock, and the dealers are suspicious at the sound of a knock, many eyes stare in hopes to get a glare, of the american dream and what can help to get em there, some see the light and get away from it all, but its all in tha habitat when nature callz

It goez 1 for tha ghetto, 2 for tha people, 3 for tha fact that every manz created equal, some can help you rise, some can help you fall, but nature still callz through it all

Now many people in tha ghetto got love for tha neighbor, many believe in god or at least in their creator, unfortunately some have met tha man way too early, and so many motherz wake up wit they eyez blurry, children wit single parents is a sight often seen, so welfare is at a high becuz therez mouths to feed, some are lucky enough to have a mother and father, but at the same time the ghettos still got em, music has to be the only thing to hold, becuz its good for the mind, the body and the soul, love, hate, laughter and cries its all there, but fear in the hearts of a ghetto man is rare, molded thick through a rough skin of scrappin for bread, and you a bad mothafucka if you 30 and aint dead, some got tha talents of an artist or athlete, so they can hit tha mic, a basketball or a trackmeet, most of us got love for a girl named mary, cuz the feelin we concieve is extra ordinary, but the love we have the most is for our next of kin, they got our back like a chiropractor through thick and thin, again and again, through joyz and sorrow, and we all tryin to see tomorrow, when nature callz
