Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song when I graduated college. It was a time when I thought I had everything figured out, and I realized that the proverbial "real world" everybody was talking about finally came. Nobody was going to tell me what to do anymore. It's so easy to spend your entire life waking up, going to class, coming home, eating, doing homework, doing any other activities, and then going to bed, only to do the same thing every day for about twenty years. It's when you take all those things away when you really beat yourself up for not making more of your time. It's a learning experience as much as it is a reflection.
Song Description
This song is about the moment you graduate college, and you realize that you are entering the real world. It is a scary time because for most people, you simply went through the motions of life up until then. Now life's decisions are yours.

Lyrics
I'm scared to face leaving the shade
Why can't tomorrow be just the same as yesterday
Please get me out of this cold cap and gown
It just hit like a slow first kiss, what's about to happen now
Well here's that golden age
Here's the world and all it's weight
Here's the part they could not explain
Growing up kept me numb to this and now
All at once, here it comes, here we go
I never tried looking failure in the eye
I kept safe in a leap of faith, that I would change the world when I'm a man
Did I waste a generation going through the motions?
Making deadlines, making grades
Expecting life to change
Well now the final bell has rung
And all I am is numb
Do I follow my heart, or follow my head?
What if they conflict?
Well nothing's hurting yet
Nothing's hurting yet
Nothing's hurting yet
Nothing's hurting yet
All at once, here it comes
Here we go
All at once..
