Story Behind The Song

After my LA producer fiasco, I decided to concentrate on moving my career into the Japanese pop scene. I started "crashing concerts", going to a concert and telling the Japanese security guards that I had a meeting with the artist manager. Confused, they would go get him, and when he arrived I would cutely explain that I was an artist, and would he listen to my songs? This happened at at least 3 concerts: No Doubt, Fiona Apple, and the Pet Shop Boys. The producer, every time, asked me if I was coming to the concert, and when I said "No", they would give me a back stage pass! At the Pet Shop Boys concert, I sat next to Yamazaki-san, a Japanese television producer, and told him I was an artist. He was happy to listen to my CD and gave me an opinion a few days later: I didn't have a song that he liked yet, but he encouraged me to write one that he did like. After 2 CDs that I sent to him, he let me know that he loved the song "Too Late" and he wanted to make it into a Japanese television commercial for his music video program "Sony Music Access". He videoed me singing it on top of a building. I loved it! It was so beautiful! Yamazaki-san was so happy with it, that he told me he wanted to make a Christmas CD to give to his producer friends in Japan. The time kept going by and I never heard from him about creating this CD. Finally, when Christmas was upon us, Yamazaki-san, who had become so busy during the time before Christmas, realized that the CD had fallen through the cracks and he had a producer make a CD out of remastering my demo. I didn't believe my demos were going to impress a music producer, although the remastering they did was very good considering it was a demo. I was upset, because it didn't seem impressive at all to me. I lost touch with Yamazaki-san after that, but I would love to say hello to him again and thank him.
