Story Behind The Song
Set in the wild west, a man is wrongly accused of a murder that he didn't commit. The man leading the posse is the real killer. They chase him all the way to Mexico, where he nearly makes it to freedom.
Song Description
This song was written back in the 70's by my older brother Ron. He never did anything with it, but I always thought it was a good song with a good story and hook. Last summer, I found an old demo of the tune, re-arranged it and recorded it in my home stud

Lyrics
Outlaw
They say he shot a man named Brown
and if he's caught he's gallows bound
Feels the shadow of another man,
who's free to walk upon the land
The very one who murdered Brown
leads the posse that hunts him down
Ahhhh Outlaw
Ahhhh Outlaw
Stays awake, but begins to tire
as he sits near a cracklin' fire
a coyote sings when the moon is bright
He calls for his mate in the night
Hears a noise and he quickly draws
Just a tumbleweed, not the law
Ahhhh Outlaw
Ahhhh Outlaw
Riding fast through the hills
were forty men with a mind to kill
Made his run just a little too slow
and they caught him just a mile from Mexico
Ahhhh Outlaw
Ahhhh Outlaw
A bullet did find him on that day
and they turned around and they rode away
Dead men they say can tell no lies,
but I swear you could read the truth in his eyes
Ahhhh Outlaw
Ahhhh Outlaw
