Song Description
This is a song I produced, engineered, mixed, and helped arrange for the very talented artist Jill Savre.
I also performed the traditional and non traditional type guitar and "kitchen percussion" overdubs (the non traditional guitar included playing dulcimer style using knives, etc.).
No keyboards/synths/samplers were used.
And here's the nuttiest thing about the production: it was done on 8 tracks. I'm fortunate enough to have a much better equipped studio now..

Lyrics
Skeleton Key
VERSE
You told me it was only love
Love only was our destiny
I told you that I couldn't take
The twisted fate you offered me
I sheltered love for my heart's sake
You give to me a skeleton key
That I could use for my escape
CHORUS
A skeleton key you've given me
You?ve given me skeleton key
VERSE
A kindled heart remains on fire
It burns apart and leaves desire
You sold to me a bridge of sighs
It takes it's toll with lying eyes
The gate is opening for me
You?ve given me a skeleton key
You wake my curiosity
CHORUS
A skeleton key you've given me
You?ve given me skeleton key
BRIDGE
What good would it do me to open the door
When there's nothin' for me to open it for...
VERSE
So I'll make believe I?m unexposed
Protected by this key I hold
Opposing any closing door
And love I'm told will visit more
The panacea of a key
The door to opportunity
Imprisoned by what I conceive
Reality is up to me and I won't need your skeleton key
CHORUS
I won't need your skeleton key
I won't need your skeleton key
BRIDGE
Cuz' what good would it do me to open the door
When there's nothin' for me to open it for...
CHORUS
I won't need your skeleton key
I won't need your skeleton key
