Story Behind The Song
Inspired by the work of both Middle Eastern Composer Ihsan Al-Munzer's and that of Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra, Desert Moon Dance was an effort to combine familiar elements of simple Folk Dance Music with that of something a bit more mystical and rockin'. Like most of Matthew C. Bauder's works it started with a simple guitar riff and grew from that.
Song Description
A modern folk dance song with an exotic and mysterious feel containing a jumping drum beat, electric guitars, bass, synths, horns and organ. Desert Moon Dance has a hypnotic and groovy rhythmic foundation created by the drums, bass, guitars and horns that allows the melodic synthesizer and organ lines to mystically float over top to a bridge that takes a moment to pause and breathe then rise to crescendo back into the rhythmic theme that repeats and builds to the end. It is intriguing, rhythmic, building and intense. Perfect for scenes where there is a slow build to the action or a hypnotic rhythmic theme is needed to convey emotion.
