The Tempest

Story Behind The Song

This track was written for Waterspout Theater's performance of Shakespeare's "The Tempest" at the historic Fort Hamilton in Bermuda in 2006. Shakespeare's original play was based on the island of Bermuda. The mood was dark and ominous in anticipation of the incoming storm. This is one of three tracks I was commissioned to write for the play, the other two being "Ariel" and "Dance of the sprites". All three are on my 2006 album titled "Eclectia".

Song Description

This track is driven by a nylon string electric guitar playing an arpeggiated chord progression that evokes an ominous atmosphere. A haunting flute melody joins the guitar and the track rests in a bed of undulating string pads.
