Lyrics
Elephants and Tigers
Many many years ago there used to be a king
His kingdom was the whole wide world and all it's wondrous things
He put the sun up in the sky so everyone could see
And changed the daytime into night when it was time for sleep
Wild elephants and tigers would come running when he called
And take him on a journey past a magic waterful
Into an ancient city hidden underneath the trees
Filled with all the riches that a king could ever need
But then one day the elephants and tigers went away
No matter how he called for them they never ever came
To take him on that journey - or frolic in the rain
Or help him change the day to night then back to day again
A king without his elephants and tigers is no king
His kingdom slowly crumbles and he can't do anything
But go into his castle and hide behind the walls
And make believe it's yesterday when he still had it all
But castles are so lonely and he always felt so cold
And though he made believe he knew that he was growing old
And so he opened up the gates and started down the road
To try and find what he had lost so many years ago
And on the way he met a child so innocent and pure
Who took his hand and led him where he'd been so long before
Then elephants and tigers came and took them 'cross the sea
To the city buried 'neath the trees now once again he's king
