When I'm stressed
I confess I overeat
It fills my belly but my soul is incomplete
What started at my lips
Has landed on my hips
And now I'm stuck in guilt and self-defeat
But the Lord has given me a victory song
'Cause I've figured out what I've been doing wrong
I've been depending on the food
To brighten up my mood
And that kind of comfort doesn't last for long

But when I am empty
He fills my cup
When I am broken
He comes and builds me back up
When there's too much on my plate
All I have to do is wait
On Him to help me
And He fills me up

When my boss is givin' me an awful time
A piece of chocolate always helps to soothe my mind
But as soon as it is gone
My search will just go on
For something else to help me pass the time
And when my sweetie pie and I have had a fight
Chips and salsa help to keep me warm at night
But I find that in the end
Garbage food is not my friend
It only helps to make to make my britches tight

I used to think no one could ever care for me
When my body's not the way it ought to be
But Jesus sees inside
And He knows how hard I've tried
And He died upon the cross to set me free
This transformation's gonna take some time
To change my body I have to change my mind
But it'll change before my eyes
With good food and exercise
And the more I trust in Jesus I will find
