Lyrics
He took her hand in the spring of their lives, and there he place her ring. She was proud to be his wife, and they planned so many things. They'd have a home and a family. They'd live without a care, 'cause no matter what would come their way, they knew that love was there.
And he said, "I'm gonna love you forever, 'cause you bring out the best in me. Let the stars fall down, let the birds all flee. I'll love you forever, you'll see.
How they enjoyed their life's summer as children came their way. They campled and laughted, they sang and played, but they had the bills to pay. So they worked for a living and they saved what they could, and their children learned by work they earned a piece of all that's good.
Now his dark hair is silver, the years have come and gone. The quiet that surrounds them now, sometimes just seems too long. He takes her hand and he smiles, thinking what they've been through, then he tells her she's still beautiful, and that his love's still true.
