Lyrics
An old man stood before the king, with shackles bound and chained, and spoke of royal wickedness. His tongue was unrestrained. the king and evil priests had led the people from the Lord. Unless they changed, destruction would be their great reward.
(Chorus)
Oh, evil minds, when will you learn? Oh, wicked hearts when will you turn? Abinadi said sinners never win. To find true peace, make Christ your friend.
(Verse 2)
The evil king was angry and sentenced him to die. And as the flames scorched his skin, he did testify That even as he suffered, they would suffer so, Afflicted with disease and scattered to and fro. They would all be hunted, and in the bitter end, the king would have a fiery death from those he thought were friends.
(Verse 3)
The old man simply died then, and one man watching said, "I can't believe they killed him. I can't believe he's dead. He only taught of light and truth. The things he taught were right, and I am turning from my ways." A heart was changed that night.
(Verse 4)
As for wicked king and priests, from enemies they fled, leaving families behind, fearing they were dead; and in their path, all quiet now, lay the last remains for man they once called 'king' in the dying flames.
