Story Behind The Song
Went to New Orleans with a couple of friends and we had bad hangovers, and this was our first night in New Orleans - bit of an eye opener it was such a party atmosphere, which was exciting, but made me think how safe home (Melbourne) is or perhaps just more comfortable with where you live.

Lyrics
No Place Like Home
Me and 2 friends, went down to New Orleans
Stayed in a southern house, somewhere in the back streets
We were singing songs and laughin’ ‘bout the Mississippi
As night time fell, we strolled into town
Don’t stray from Bourbon St, or you’ll get mugged
Where the street turns to party
Reminded me of New Years Eve
Chorus: Our hearts were free, our spirits high
We were reminiscing of days gone by
Was kind of scary, I remember thinking
There’s no place like home
There’s no place like home
We could hear the blues, so we went into this bar
I swear it was Stevie Ray, playing his guitar
I’m still not sure, it must have been an illusion
They said ‘You’ve got to have a drink, or you’ll have to leave the bar’
Couldn’t touch a drop, ‘cause of Memphis the night before
‘How ‘bout a lemonade’? – two black dudes threw us out
Chorus
We were back in Bourbon St, back in the crowd
We were all laughing, but Mick was really scared
‘Those dudes are after us, we better walk a little faster’
Walked past a movie set, straight into a cab
Saw guys in plastic shorts, dancing with girls in bras
(There were guys and girls dressed up, dancin’ without a care)
Back to our southern house, wasn’t long we were fast asleep
Chorus
