Story Behind The Song
What started out as a short vocal part to test different microphones for his studio, Heartache evolved into a catchy play on words to admonish his real heart after a brief encounter with a clogged artery. Written and performed by Jim Malloy. Produced and mixed by Austin Bello, Grammy Recording Academy Member and co-founder of Forever The Sickest Kids. Lyrics
Verse 1
If I go
This time it'll show
That I've given it everything
Tied up the broken strings
God only knows
Verse 2
And if I stay
I won't give it away
Don't be throwing no bones
Say you're bringing it home
When there's devils to pay
Pre Chorus 1
Somebody's got to tell me
Why the hell you would ever agree
Chorus 1
I won't be satisfied
Until the pain is gone
You know I'll pay the price
Till the healing comes
Verse 3
If I leave
It will be a reprieve
There's no reason to stay
Throwing seasons away
I've got things to achieve
Verse 4
And if I go
I will go it alone
Just tell all of my friends
I'll be making amends
God only knows
Pre Chorus
Somebody's got to tell me
Why the hell I should ever believe
Chorus 2
I know I'll be alright
Until you prove me wrong
You know that I'll survive
When the heartache's gone
Chorus 3
I won't be satisfied
Until the pain is gone
You know I'll pay the price
Till the healing comes
Chorus 4
I know I'll be alright
Until you prove me wrong
You know that I'll survive
When the heartache's gone
When the heartache's gone
