Story Behind The Song
I was at a song writers meeting and given the title - I never thought about thinking. Then I thought, people who have trouble thinking call it a "senior moment". But some of the people who have the most trouble thinking clearly are high school seniors. So I formed the song around that concept.

I Never Thought About Thinkin'

Well she was just 18 and a homecoming queen
When I took her to the football game
In my pick up truck, could not believe my luck
Figured life would never be the same
I hung two cold six packs, from the shotgun rack
And we drank 'em coming home from the prom
I wasn't expectin' to need no protection
In nine months my beauty queen's a mom
Chorus
I never thought about thinkin'
What a little not thinkin' could mean
But too much drinkin' and not enough thinkin'
Made a mom out of my beauty queen
Well that was long ago, now I'm 40 or so
And my daughter's getting' dressed for her prom
But I won't worry at all, when her boyfriend calls
'cause she had a heart to heart with her mom
Who said, I love you sweetheart, but I want to impart
A little wisdom I learned the hard way
Too much drinkin' and not enough thinkin'
Can change your life forever in a day (My daughter said)
Chorus
I never thought about thinkin'
What a little not thinkin' could mean
How too much drinkin' and not enough thinkin'
Can make a mom out of a beauty queen
Bridge
My girl's a mom today
Happened a better way
Because she learned to say-ay
Chorus
