Lyrics
The road to romance is paved with broken hearts.
Most tales are better left untold.
Still I feel compelled to tell you of this one.
I liked her so much
She don't even call me anymore
And I hope she remembers me but
I doubt she gives a damn, child that's for sure
She was manic this, she was obsessive that. She stood five foot one when her feet were flat. She was always wearing some crazy platform shoes. Her hair was different every week. It was brown red blonde with a blue green streak. Before it was long it was gone and spiked with moose. She did lots of drugs then she did more. She knew of every single corner store that had her favorite one, amphedidrine. Shirt was short, pants were tight. I liked to see her every night but I think there was somebody else she was seeing. (that's what I tell my friends.)
I liked her so much
She don't even call me anymore
And I hope she remembers me but
I doubt she gives a damn, child that's for sure
Once a distant dream of mine, way too cool and so damn fine. I had to carefully assess the situation. She was clever hip. She was whimsical, riding on a candy-striped bicycle, like a warrior princess in Japanese animation. She came to my place and I sang my songs. To my surprise it didn't take that long. We hooked up the first time that we went out. But after that, things weren't quite the same. She got so wasted she forgot my name. I was hoping she'd show me what love was all about.
But it was never meant to be, a passing fancy is all I'll amount to.
It was never meant to be, I guess I'll learn to live without you.
I liked her so much
She don't even call me anymore
And I hope she remembers me but
I doubt she gives a damn, child that's for sure
