Story Behind The Song
It was a crazy time down in San Francisco in the 80's.
Married into an elitist rich family, coming from a small town in Idaho with upper middle class folks, (upper middle for the area, right to work and all).
I didn't want to even try to fit in. My spirit is much more liberal minded than they were. My husband (at the time) was a faux liberal, he was really a pretentious arrogant ass. LOL
of course he was, he couldn't help it. A rich mommas boy.
I found myself alone with my son too much, the man wouldn't even change a diaper, or fix a meal. We both worked. I had dreams of singing for the world, he told me to keep the music at home.
We would always fight when I had a gig.
I made up my mind to go it on my own.
When I told him he started out by hitting the ceiling, then he calmed down and attempted to be kind.
Sweet Words
It's the best that I could do, thinking the thoughts I thunk. After our son Evan Transitioned into non-physical, I'll never speak to the him again, in form. I kept the man's name for my son. All my business is name entrenched.
We all got by, bitter sweetly....It is all forgiven..since it never really happened in anything but a dream..nightmare?...not always...:)

Lyrics
Sweet Words
Take a rope and tie me down
Hold my head under and let me drown
Oh you say I'm so good at what I do for you
That you'll never let me go
You say you'll never love another
Ah Ah such sweet words
Sweet words
I ain't looking to tie down
And I will not be tied
Oh this bluebird she flies at dawn
While the tears flow
Will the sweet words carry on
While the tears flow
Sweet words carry on
oh yeah
All I ever dreamed and all I ever needed
I'm good at what I do
Seems I've been working real hard at nothing And it's time yes it's time
It's time my dream came true
oh yeah
All my friends say hey cut the rope
And they give me a place to stay
But you know I hate to leave
Oh oh it's hard to go
Just tell me some more sweet words
Sweet words I wanta hear some sweet words
Before I go out on my own in the cold
Oh yeah
No use wasting no more time
My clock is running
On my own time now
And won't you give me another hug
And on another night
I'll stay for a while
But for now But for now But for now
Hey I must go
Oh yeah
I wanta hear some sweet words
Sweet Words
I wanta hear some sweet words before I go out on my own in the cold
Oh yeah
