Story Behind The Song
My husband died on July 27th, 2005 after a lengthy illness. This is a very heartfelt song I wrote back in 2003 called "What Am I To Do." Based on TAXI critiques, I re-vised some of the wording, changed the title, and added a bridge. I hope you like it as

What am I to do
I'm so in love wih you
Every breath that you take
Every step that you make..
I just want to be with you
Chorus:
I can't turn grey skies into blue
Even though I wanted to
I can't take your agony and pain away
I can't stop
I can't stop
The rain.
What am I to do
You're my lover and my friend
And I'll be here 'til the end
Although you didn't ask me to
I can share this day with you....
Chorus:
I can't turn grey skies into blue
Even though I wanted to
I can't take your agony and pain away
I can't stop
No, I can't stop
The rain...
Bridge:
Letting go so hard you know...
But with all my heart and soul...
I know you need to go...
So don't worry I'll get by
Just spread those wings
And fly...so high....
What am I to do...
I can't stop lovin you
Every breath that I take...
Every step that I make...
Just leads me back to you.
But, I can't turn grey skies into blue
Even though I wanted to
I can't take your agony and pain away
I can't stop
No, I can't stop
The rain....
