Story Behind The Song
I was having a very stressful day around Christmastime. I came home, fixed a cup of coffee and sat down with some daily inspirational books. After reading, I sat quietly reflecting, trying not to worry. All of a sudden I HAD to find a piece of paper...I grabbed a packing slip that was on the table nearby, and the lyrics just fell out from somewhere deep inside, almost as if they were a message for me.

Lyrics
When I'm feeling quite helpless
And my cupboard seems bare,
I sit myself down
In a comfortable chair.
Then I open your book
And I look for you there...
Then I hear these words,
And I think to myself -
It will be all right.
Come to me when you are weary
Come when you hunger or thirst
For I will lift your burden
I'll give you rest;
I'll take your hand
I go before you...
You'll be safe with me.
So I tilt back my head
In an effort to pray
Thanking you, Lord
For your blessings each day.
Lay my troubles before you
And you take them from me
Then I hear these words -
And I think to myself...
It's gonna be all right.
Come to me when you are weary
Come when you hunger or thirst
For I will lift your burden
I'll give you rest;
I'll take your hand
I go before you...
You'll be safe with me.
