Story Behind The Song
The first time I heard the song "Animal" by Neon Trees, I was in a loud and crowded area. To me, the track sounded like a ballad written by Death Cab for Cutie. When I heard the track again, I realized that it sounded nothing like I had originally thought it did, but felt that what I had heard was a unique and catchy enough tune to make it the way I had thought it sounded.
Song Description
This song expresses a girl's angst and stress that comes from everyday life. The man (narrator) tells the girl not to worry because he is so enamored with her.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
So you say that you're sick with an elusive disease,
that affects your subconscious like a luminous dream.
(What could I see through)
So you say that It hurts now, I wouldn't disagree,
and your arms have a weakness, cause ya can't even eat.
(What could I see through)
(Any way you want it, thats the way I want it too.)
Refrain:
This girl is all that I am talking about.
This girl is all that makes me wanna go out.
This girl is all that I am talking about.
This girl is all that makes me wanna go out.
Verse 2:
So you say it's your birthday, it's fading fast.
Just forget what your friends say, you know it couldn't last.
(What could I see through)
So you say it's cryptic to get what you give,
but you've got to remember, to live and let live.
(What could I see through)
(Any way you want it, that's the way I want it too.)
Refrain
Verse 3:
And if you're feeling alone, take it from me,
this isn't nothing, baby.
Looking through every window, and every door,
lies a promise of heaven, and maybe something more.
(What could I see through)
(Any way you want it, that's the way I want it too.)
