Story Behind The Song
June 1st, 2004. This is a special track, simply because it was the first musical piece I've recorded for over fifteen years. 2004 has been a year of incredible change and uprooting for my family and I. One of the few good things to come out of this year is that I've finally gotten around to re-assembling a music studio and I'm starting to make songs again.
What you will hear on my BroadJam page is my re-discovery of the joy of making music. It won't the be most polished production you'll ever hear but it will be a journey of sorts as I come to grips with the tech of 2004 and slowly begin to forge a unique "Koorby" sound.
So "Song For A Rainy Day" has a special place for me, since it's the re-awakening of the music inside of me and start of the journey.
Song Description
Opening strings and the sounds of synthetic birds in the air make the entry for the piano to set the melodic tone which leads to a chorus. The piece then builds with synth pads, oboe, flute and eventually a male choir and female soprano arrive at the cresendo.
