Story Behind The Song
This song follows the story of Nichiren Daishonin and one of his loyal followers, Shijo Kingo (a samurai) in 13th century Japan during a time called the Tatsunokuchi Persection.
The Daishonin, wrongly persecuted for his admonitions of the ruling clans for their erroneous Buddhist beliefs, was being taken to his execution on the beach of Tatsunokuchi.
Shijo Kingo walked along with his mentor, Nichiren, and vowed to give his own life if necessary.
At the exact moment the executioner raised his sword to behead Nichiren, a large meteor/orb streaked across the sky (a historical fact) and the fearful executioner could not complete the task. Nichiren survived and revealed himself as the true Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law.

TIME (How Many Miles) - music and lyrics by Richard C. (Kluso) Tollini © 2010
Time slips through my hands just like a dream
And hearts break like an ocean ...on cliffs of fantasy
And Life is just an illusion if nothing really matters
As time slips through our hands just like a dream
How many miles?
How many miles?
How many miles can it be?
And I'll stay by your side down to the sea
As' hearts dance just like a puppets on imaginary strings
You, you are my Captain and I will be your champion
And I'll walk with you
down to the sea
How many miles?
How many miles?
How many miles can it be?
How many miles?
How many miles?
How many miles down to the sea
And how can we know the right direction to go
And how can we find what we can't see
From over the horizon 100 million miles
Our arrogance flies out over the sea
Now time, time stands still just like a dream
And my heart breaks like an ocean for everyone to see
And Life is not an illusion look up esho funi
While time slips through our hands just like a dream
How many miles?
How many miles?
How many miles can it be?
How many miles?
How many miles?
How many miles down to the sea
