Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song for school children, as part of an environmental-consciuosness raising campaign that my family's rainforest conservation foundation is leading in the watersheds of the Banano and Bananito Rivers in the Province of Limon in Costa Rica.
The percussive rhythm that underscores the song is being played with river rocks from the Bananito River.
Song Description
Approximate translation
Bananito River and Banano River of Limon:
pure water for drinking, pure water for playing,
fresh water for everyone, fresh water for Limon.
I am the river, protect what I give you!
I am the river, I give life.
