Story Behind The Song

Written in memory of Dr. Carlos Jose Gutierrez, father of a good friend of mine. Dr. Gutierrez was one of Costa Rica's most remarkable citicens, who, among other things, served as foreign minister during the tenure of President Oscar Arias (Nobel Peace Prize winner). Dr. Gutierrez always stood out for his honesty, humility, and common sense, which are rare qualities among those active in politics.

Instrumental piece inspired by the Andean "huayno." The Andean charango is the primary instrument.
