One Memphis Night (Singer-Songwriter/Pop)

Story Behind The Song

This song was inspired by the death of singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley. I wrote it from the perspective of his friend, who was there when it happened.

Song Description

I recorded this live in my living room with nothing more than a microphone, guitar and cd burner. No overdubs, no editing. Just pure expression.

Song Length 3:00 Genre Pop - General

Lyrics

Last night I cried your name
But you never came

Do you realize, how hard I tried
You were lost for five days

Last night I heard you sing
With a voice so serene

How can I find some peace of mind
You were no where to be seen

How can I find some peace of mind
You were no where to be seen

Oh if you could see
What you touched in me
I will never be the same
