Story Behind The Song

Featuring the triumphant trumpet work of 2-time Grammy winner David Longoria (solo start at 2:50), this song by Out of the Whirlwind is a fun explosion of praising the Creator. The chorus mentions praise in the morning, evening and all day long, almost daring the listener not to. It has an old-school vibe that still lands today because, frankly no one else is doing anything like this. The rap break written by Whirlwind bandmate Shawn Mitchell is an unexpected surprise. Out of the Whirlwind is a multi-Grammy considered band on the southside of Chicago. The extended version of Sing Praise is the opening track on their second album More Whirl, featuring a rap break and piano solo.

Lyrics

Sometimes it's easy to forget who you are
Lord it seems the distance is too far
But there's a way to put it back right
Raise your voice, connect with His might

CHORUS 1
Sing praise...........in the morning
Sing praise...........in the evening
Sing praise...........from your heart
sing (sha la la la la la la la la) 3x sha la la la la

Verse 2
Are you caught in a storm without protection?
Drifting along without any direction
The time has come, no need to wait
Here's a path that's true and straight

CHORUS 2
Sing praise...........in the morning
Sing praise...........from your heart
Sing all....day long, sing all day long,
sing (sha la la la la la la la la) 3x sha la la la la

BRIDGE
Psalm 104 says, "I will sing to the Lord all my life (all my life)
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live (as long as I live)
Praise the Lord my soul, praise the Lord
Praise the Lord my soul, praise the Lord
Some people may want us to stop singing praise songs, we won't
Because it's good to know that God's on the throne and when I'm off in my zone
And I keep doing wrong, he still calls "Prodigal son please come back home"
He's never abandoned me, unconditional love for me, I praise him constantly, constantly
How can this be, cause He's my motivation, he's the Lord of all nations
Removes all my frustrations and has a plan of salvation
Philippians 4:13 I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me
Now my hands I will raise and sing praise

Verse 3
Don't fall into the trap of the great deceiver
Give your life to the Great Receiver
Throw back your heads, lift up the song
Praising the Lord, all the day long

CHORUS
Sing praise...........in the morning
Sing praise...........in the evening
Sing praise...........from your heart
Sing all day long, sing all day long
sing (sha la la la la la la la la)
(sha la la la la la la la la)
(sha la la la la la la la la)
