Story Behind The Song
Just came to me one day. I am sure some guys out there have at one time or another fallen for the good looking gal that took them and used them leaving them empty afterwards.
Song Description
All about the femme fatale, with references to the Venus Fly-Trap, and Bottecelli's " Birth Of Venus " painting. Originally written in 2004, this is the latest and most revised version, and a good demo showing the result of my lyrics put to music.

Lyrics
( She Loved Me Like A ) Venus Fly-Trap
© John Hanover 2010
( bridge )
In neon tinted gardens
Under the blackest light
They wait for you
The perfume of promise, ever so slight
These grounds not fit for flowers
Row after row awaits
In days not fit for the sun
So few ever escape
In a lime green cocktail dress
With ruby red lips, and soft pink skin
She has no inhibitions, and no regrets
Opening her arms to let you in
( chorus )
On the half shell floating
Wind blowing through her hair
All the charms she's promoting
She'll leave you in despair
With ruby red lips, and soft pink skin
She will give you every reason
Opening her arms to let you in
You can't afford the pain filled adhesion
( chorus )
On the half shell floating
Wind blowing through her hair
All the charms she's promoting
She'll leave you in despair.
She will give you every reason
Heartbreaking as you expect
You can't avoid the pain filled adhesion
She has no inhibitions, and no regrets
In a lime green cocktail dress
( chorus )
On the half shell floating
Wind blowing through her hair
All the charms she's promoting
She'll leave you in despair.
( chorus )
On the half shell floating
Wind blowing through her hair
All the charms she's promoting
She'll leave you in despair.
