Story Behind The Song
Sgt. Chris Reyka's case is still an unsolved homicide. I've raised hundreds of dollars for his family selling this song on a CD called "Some of us..." He left behind a wife and four children. Any sales of this song goes to benefit his family.
Song Description
This song is dedicated to Sgt. Chris Reyka of the Broward Sheriff's Office, who was killed in the line of duty on August 2, 2007.
I wrote it also as a dedication to all law enforcement who work at night to keep everyone safe. I tried to give incite into what we do at night.

Lyrics
Some of us Don't Sleep at Night
Joanne Tramonte 9-29-07 (C) and Katy Peterson
(V-1)
Some of us don't sleep at night
We calm and soothe and aim to do right.
We ain't always nice, we ain't polite.
But we're at home in slum and ghetto
Where its dirty, hot and unholy we go
Chorus:
Some of us don't sleep at night
We're on the edge spring-loaded to fight.
We don our gear when the sun sets
Badge, taser, pepper spray 'n' kevlar vests
We are there when tough men cry
We are there when hope has died
(V-2)
Some of us don't sleep at night
We stroll in squallor with our guns held tight.
We shepherd the weakened in their strife
We respond when the blood flows
On guard and alert as the danger grows.
CHORUS
Bridge:
Darkness falls. Tempers flair.
Our sergeant checks a car with care
Shots ring out..a hero lies there.
They call us when they're beaten, robbed or banned
Police officers... in a midnight land.
Police officers... in a midnight land.
CHORUS
Some of us don't sleep at night (X2) - tag
